APPLICATIONS OF STITCHER FOR VISUAL EFFECTS & 3D ANIMATION
 |
 |
Creation of environment maps for 3D rendering
Thanks to a variety of rendering options (spherical, cylindrical, cubic), your panorama created within Autodesk® Stitcher™ can be integrated into a 3D scene in order to generate a background image, reflections and lighting with complete photo-realism. This technique consists of mapping a photo-realistic environment onto the interior of a cube or sphere using a 3D software, then importing the various other elements which make up your project.
Step 1 - Shoot the photographs of the panorama
Step 2 - Assemble the panorama with Stitcher
Step 3 - After rendering the panorama, map the image onto a cube or a sphere
The placement of a virtual camera in the center of this scene will help you visualize your final project in the form of an animation or a fixed image. The panorama is then used as a background decor and/or it is used to light you 3D scene or object.

Creation of matte paintings for special effects
|
 |
 |
A "matte painting" is a very wide picture which is used as a background image in special effects for films and videos.
Stitcher allows you to create large-sized panoramas at high resolution, making it ideal for the creation of "matte paintings".
'This technique has been employed with very effective results in a number of top movies, including “Bewitched” and “Van Helsing”.
In addition, the interoperability with Photoshop now also enables you to edit your matte painting in Adobe Photoshop (or another software of your choice).
