John McCarthy, USA (Commercial Photographer & Autodesk Stitcher 2009 Beta Tester)

- 29 septembre 2008 -

"I just created a panorama testing the HDR aspect in the "Beta 2" version of Autodesk Stitcher 2009. Extremely successful outcome! I wanted to test the memory management of creating a pano from 60 x 69.5 MB images. A total of 4.9 gigabytes of data. I also wanted to see what features were used to tone map the images within Stitcher. The shot was unique, not only from the HDR component, using a 5 image "stack", but also as all of the 60 images were comprised of people in a crowd, in motion. So each stack of images (12 separate stacks of 5 images each) had the potential to have an unimaginable number of "ghosted images" when stitched into a panorama. Combine that with the 30% overlap that each individual group of images requires for accurate stitching, and I think I came up with a pretty strong test of many of Stitcher's capabilities. The resulting image using the "Smart" blending method was superb, creating a 156 MB output Tiff image. I also had no need to remove any ghosting in the ("Beta 2") version."
