This is a common question from users wishing to display a full panorama on a single image – a kind of image best served by “Cylindrical” or “Spherical” projection methods – but who find the resulting distortion unnatural. It is not possible to create a 360-degree image from a panorama without introducing some form of distortion for the simple reason that you will project a sphere in a plan and so poles will be distorted. This vertical distortion is a necessary side effect of this projection and can only be eliminated by switching to other projection methods that can’t display 360 degrees in a single image, such as “Cubical” and “Snapshot” projections.
