Stitcher Unlimited is now completely « HDR compatible ». The process developed with Autodesk® Stitcher™ Unlimited is associated with an external software to permit the creation of HDR images. The different solutions available on the market are Adobe® Photoshop®, Photomatix® or HDR Shop.
The process, which enable the creation of HDR panoramas is as follows:
1.
Shoot with several exposures. Each image should be taken with a different exposure, and you should also have enough images (with an overlap of at least 30%) to be able to create a panorama.
2.
Creation of HDR images using an external software (such as Photoshop or PhotomatixPro). Export images in Open EXR (.exr) format, or Radiance RGBe (.hdr).
3.
Import images in Open EXR (exr) or Radiance RGBe (.hdr) format into Stitcher Unlimited and create your panorama within Stitcher.
You can export your panorama in a standard format (jpeg, for example) by using the automatic tone mapping in Stitcher or chose to export your panorama in Open EXR (exr) or Radiance RGBe (.hdr) format and « tone map » in in an external software.
4.
If your final aim is to create a virtual visit, you need to re-import your « tone-mapped » image into Stitcher Unlimited in order to export it to one of the different formats for virtual visits (Quick Time, Flash, Java).
